Terms of Service
Draft for the beta. Before launch a lawyer will review and complete it — we’ll let you know about changes. This is an English translation. If the versions differ, the Polish version applies.
These Terms are the terms of providing services by electronic means (Article 8 of the Polish Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means) and contain the information required by the Polish Consumer Rights Act for distance contracts for the supply of a digital service.
§ 1. Definitions
- 1.Service Provider, we — the person who runs Vantis — a private individual in Poland, without a registered business, e-mail: vantis.app@gmail.com.
- 2.App — the Vantis application available in the browser at https://vantis-life-os-app.vercel.app, as an app added to the home screen (PWA) and in the iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) apps.
- 3.User, you — a natural person aged 16 or over who has created an Account.
- 4.Consumer — a User who is a consumer (Article 22¹ of the Polish Civil Code); the provisions on Consumers also apply to a sole trader when the contract is not of a professional nature for them (Article 385⁵ of the Civil Code).
- 5.Account — the User’s individual account in the App.
- 6.Free Plan — the free scope of the App with the limits described in § 9.
- 7.Premium — a paid subscription that extends the App (§ 10).
- 8.Trial — free, one-time access to Premium for a new Account (§ 10(2)).
- 9.Subscription Seller — the entity from which you buy Premium: Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play) or Paddle.com Market Ltd (purchase on the web).
- 10.User Content — everything you enter in the App: tasks, habits, goals, financial data, library materials, profile.
- 11.AI Features — features in which content is created by an artificial intelligence model (§ 8).
§ 2. General provisions
- 1.These Terms set out the rules for using the App, the conditions for concluding and terminating contracts and the complaints procedure.
- 2.The Terms are available free of charge in the App and on the Website at https://vantis-life-os.vercel.app/en/terms in a form that allows you to download, save and print them.
- 3.By creating an Account you accept the Terms and conclude with us a contract for providing services by electronic means for an indefinite period (Free Plan). Buying Premium is a separate contract for the billing period, renewed automatically (§ 10).
- 4.Contact with us: e-mail vantis.app@gmail.com, or by post to the Service Provider’s address (item 1). We answer on working days, usually within 2 days.
§ 3. What the App offers
- 1.The App helps you plan your day and keep track of personal matters. In particular it includes:a) Today — a morning briefing, three priorities for the day, tasks, a summary of habits, payments and goals;b) Habits — a plan, check-offs, streaks, statistics, reminders;c) Goals — numeric and step-based goals with a deadline and pace;d) Money — manually entered transactions, categories, budgets, recurring bills with reminders, accounts and assets;e) Life Library — materials (books, articles, videos) with takeaways and quotes, and search in them;f) AI Features (§ 8) and notifications (§ 7).
- 2.The App is not a financial service, nor investment, tax, legal, medical or psychological advice. It doesn’t connect to your bank and doesn’t make payments — you enter financial data yourself, and the App organises and shows it.
- 3.The detailed scope of the Free Plan and Premium is described in § 9 and on the pricing screen in the App.
§ 4. Technical requirements
- 1.To use the App you need: a device with internet access, an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — a version from the last 2 years) with JavaScript and the cookies needed for signing in enabled, or the mobile app on iOS 16+ or Android 7+, and an active e-mail address.
- 2.Notifications require consent in the browser or system; on an iPhone in the browser — adding the App to the home screen.
- 3.Using the internet carries the usual risks (e.g. malware, interception of a password). Keep your device up to date and don’t share your password.
§ 5. Account
- 1.You create an Account by giving an e-mail address and a password (and confirming the address with a link or code from the message) or by signing in with a Google or Apple account.
- 2.An Account may be created by a person aged 16 or over. By creating an Account you confirm that you meet this condition.
- 3.The Account is personal. Don’t share it with others and keep your password confidential. If you suspect that someone has gained access to your Account, change the password and write to us.
- 4.At any time you can download all your data (Settings → Account → “Download my data”) and request deletion of the Account on the account deletion page, which also opens from Settings → Account. The Account and User Content are permanently deleted 30 days after the request; until then you can cancel it on the same page. Deleting the Account doesn’t cancel a Premium subscription bought from a Subscription Seller — cancel it with them first (§ 10(7)).
§ 6. Rules of use
- 1.Use the App in accordance with the law, these Terms and good practice.
- 2.In particular, it is forbidden to:a) provide unlawful content;b) attempt to access other people’s Accounts or data, or to bypass security measures, limits (including the daily limits of AI Features) and payments;c) download data automatically, overload the App, or run security tests without our written consent (see the rules for reporting vulnerabilities: https://vantis-life-os-app.vercel.app/.well-known/security.txt);d) use AI Features to create content that is unlawful or infringes other people’s rights;e) resell the App or make it available to others without our consent.
- 3.If item 2 is breached, we may restrict access to the Account or terminate the contract under § 14.
§ 7. User Content and notifications
- 1.User Content belongs to you. You grant us a non-exclusive, free licence to store, process and display it — only to the extent needed to provide the service (including passing it to AI Features when you use them). The licence expires when the Content or the Account is deleted.
- 2.User Content is private — we don’t publish it or share it with other Users.
- 3.You are responsible for the User Content you enter. Don’t enter other people’s data without a legal basis.
- 4.We take care of backups, but we recommend downloading a data export from time to time.
- 5.You turn notifications (habit reminders, the morning briefing) on and off yourself in Settings or in your system. We don’t send advertising notifications.
§ 8. AI Features
- 1.AI Features (briefing, summaries, questions to the library, category suggestions) are optional and work only after your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings → Profile. The Privacy Policy describes how data is processed.
- 2.Content created by AI is labelled in the App. It is supporting and informational: it may contain errors, inaccuracies or outdated information. It isn’t financial, investment, tax, legal, medical or psychological advice. Before making an important decision, check the information with a specialist.
- 3.AI Features are subject to daily limits on the number and size of requests, shown in Settings → Account. The limits protect against abuse and may change, without significantly reducing the scope of Premium except under § 12.
- 4.We may change the AI model provider or version if this doesn’t significantly lower the quality of the features.
§ 9. Free Plan
- 1.The Free Plan is free of charge and has no time limit. It includes the basic features of the modules, with limits on the number of active: habits (5), goals (3), recurring bills (5), budgets (3), accounts (3) and library materials (30). AI Features are available in Premium.
- 2.After Premium or the Trial ends, we don’t delete or block User Content. Items above the limit stay visible and usable; you just can’t add new ones above the limit.
- 3.We may change the scope of the Free Plan under § 12.
§ 10. Premium and the Trial
- 1.Prices. Premium costs PLN 19.99 per month or PLN 149.99 per year (gross prices, including VAT). You see the current prices on the purchase screen before buying. In the stores the price may differ by country and is set in the store’s currency.
- 2.Trial. A new Account receives, once, 7 days of Premium without charge and without giving a card. When it ends, the Account automatically switches to the Free Plan — we don’t charge anything. The Trial is available once per person.
- 3.Purchase. You buy Premium:a) in the iOS app — through the App Store (the seller is Apple);b) in the Android app — through Google Play (the seller is Google);c) on the web — through Paddle.com Market Ltd, which is the seller (Merchant of Record): it takes the payment, issues the sales document and settles taxes. A purchase on the web is also subject to Paddle’s buyer terms (paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms). The payment, invoice and refund terms in a given channel are set by the Subscription Seller.
- 4.Renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the next period (month or year) at the price in force at the time of renewal, until you cancel it. The fee is charged at the beginning of each period.
- 5.Price changes. We inform you of a price increase at least 30 days before the renewal it applies to. If you don’t agree, you can cancel the subscription before the renewal. In the stores, their rules on consent to a price increase also apply.
- 6.Premium on all devices. Premium is assigned to the Account — it works on every device you sign in on, regardless of where you bought it.
- 7.Cancelling. You cancel with the Subscription Seller: in the App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or in the Paddle customer portal (link in Settings → Account → Plan). Cancelling takes effect from the next period — Premium stays active until the end of the paid period. We don’t refund the fee for the unused part of the period, unless the law (§ 11) or the Subscription Seller’s rules provide otherwise.
- 8.Failed payment. If the Subscription Seller fails to collect the fee, Premium may keep working during a grace period set by the seller; after that the Account switches to the Free Plan (§ 9(2)).
- 9.Restoring purchases. In the mobile app, “Restore purchases” assigns an active store subscription to the Account.
§ 11. Right of withdrawal (Consumers)
- 1.Free Plan — you can end the contract at any time by deleting the Account, without giving a reason and at no cost.
- 2.Premium bought on the web (Paddle) — you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of concluding it without giving a reason. It’s enough to send a statement before the deadline, e.g. with the “Withdraw from contract” button in Settings → Account → Plan, by e-mail to vantis.app@gmail.com or using the model withdrawal form (we’ll send it on request).
- 3.If at purchase you asked for Premium to start immediately and then withdraw from the contract, you pay an amount proportional to the period in which Premium worked until the withdrawal (Article 35 of the Consumer Rights Act). The Subscription Seller refunds the rest within 14 days, using the same payment method.
- 4.Premium bought in the App Store or Google Play — withdrawal and refunds are handled by the store under its rules (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com; Google: subscription settings in Google Play), without prejudice to your statutory rights.
- 5.Withdrawal function. For contracts concluded in the App we provide an easily accessible withdrawal function, with confirmation of receipt of the statement on a durable medium (e-mail).
§ 12. Conformity of the App with the contract and changes to the App
- 1.We are responsible for the conformity of the App with the contract under Chapter 5b of the Consumer Rights Act (digital services), including providing the updates needed to keep it in conformity, including security updates.
- 2.We may change the App (features, look, providers) beyond what is needed to keep it in conformity with the contract, for justified reasons: developing and improving the App, security, changes in the law or decisions of authorities, changes at technology providers, preventing abuse. A change doesn’t involve any cost for you.
- 3.We’ll inform you about a change that significantly and negatively affects access to or use of Premium 30 days in advance, on a durable medium. You can then terminate the contract at no cost within 30 days of the change or of being informed (whichever is later), and we’ll refund a proportional part of the fee for the unused period — for purchases through a store, via the store.
- 4.The App is available around the clock, subject to technical breaks — we try to announce planned breaks and carry them out at times of low traffic.
§ 13. Complaints
- 1.Report a complaint about the App (e.g. a feature that doesn’t work, an incorrect Premium charge) by e-mail to vantis.app@gmail.com or by post. Describe the problem, give your Account’s e-mail address and what you expect.
- 2.We’ll reply within 14 days of receiving the complaint. If we don’t reply within that time, the complaint is deemed accepted (Consumers).
- 3.If the digital service doesn’t conform with the contract, a Consumer may demand that it be brought into conformity and, in the cases provided for by law, a price reduction or withdrawal from the contract.
- 4.Payment complaints (charges, refunds, invoices) are handled by the Subscription Seller; we’ll help you direct them.
- 5.A Consumer may use out-of-court dispute resolution, e.g. the help of a municipal or district consumer ombudsman, permanent amicable consumer courts at the regional inspectors of the Trade Inspection, or mediation. Information: uokik.gov.pl.
§ 14. Termination
- 1.You can terminate the Free Plan contract at any time by deleting the Account.
- 2.We may terminate the contract with 14 days’ notice in the event of a material breach of the Terms, after first calling on you to stop the breach; without notice — in the event of gross breaches (e.g. an attack on the App, attempts to access other people’s data, providing unlawful content).
- 3.If we close the App, we’ll announce it at least 60 days in advance, let you download your data and refund the paid, unused part of Premium proportionally.
- 4.Before deleting an Account on our initiative (except for gross breaches), we’ll let you download your data.
§ 15. Liability
- 1.We do our best to make the App work correctly and securely, but we don’t guarantee that it will be free of errors and interruptions.
- 2.We aren’t liable for decisions made based on content in the App, including content of AI Features (§ 8(2)), for data entered by you, or for the operation of the services of Subscription Sellers, sign-in providers and notification services.
- 3.Towards Consumers, these Terms don’t exclude or limit liability to the extent that the law forbids it.
- 4.Towards Users who are not Consumers: we are liable only for damage caused intentionally, and our total liability is limited to the fees paid for Premium in the last 12 months; we exclude liability for lost profits.
§ 16. Personal data
The rules for processing personal data are described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of the information provided when the contract is concluded.
§ 17. Intellectual property
- 1.The App, its code, look, name and marks are protected by law and belong to the Service Provider or its licensors.
- 2.We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, revocable (if the contract is terminated), to use the App for your own personal use, in accordance with the Terms, on devices you control.
- 3.You may not copy, modify or decompile the App or create other products based on it, except where mandatory law allows it.
§ 18. Point of contact and reporting illegal content
- 1.Point of contact for authorities of EU countries, the European Commission and Users (Articles 11–12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 — the Digital Services Act): vantis.app@gmail.com, in Polish and English.
- 2.Report content you consider illegal to this address, giving your reasons and where it appears. We’ll confirm receipt of the report and inform you of our decision.
§ 19. Provisions for the App from the App Store (Apple)
If you downloaded the App from the App Store:
- 1.The contract is concluded between you and the Service Provider, not with Apple Inc. The Service Provider is responsible for the App and its content.
- 2.The licence in § 17 covers the use of the App on Apple devices you control, in accordance with the Usage Rules set out in the App Store terms.
- 3.Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App — support is provided by the Service Provider (contact: § 2(4)).
- 4.If the App fails to conform to the warranty, you can notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price of the App (if it was paid); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- 5.The Service Provider, not Apple, is responsible for claims relating to the App (e.g. product liability, failure to conform to legal requirements, consumer protection, infringement of third-party intellectual property rights).
- 6.You declare that you are not located in a country subject to a US embargo and are not on any US government list of restricted parties.
- 7.When using the App, you comply with the terms of third-party services (e.g. your network operator).
- 8.Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these provisions and may enforce them against you.
§ 20. Changes to the Terms and final provisions
- 1.We may change the Terms for important reasons: changes in the law, changes to the App’s features or to Subscription Sellers, price changes (§ 10(5)), security, preventing abuse. We’ll inform you about a change in the App and by e-mail at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you don’t accept the changes, you can terminate the contract before that day (delete the Account, cancel Premium) — for Premium with a proportional refund under § 12(3).
- 2.These Terms are governed by Polish law. For Consumers, the choice of law doesn’t deprive them of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country of their habitual residence.
- 3.Disputes with Users who are not Consumers are settled by the court competent for the Service Provider’s registered address.
- 4.If any provision proves invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.
